Magic Meerkat V1000
A: The touchscreen panel has an auto-lock feature. To unlock, simply press the left navigation wheel (to the bottom left corner of the screen) to unlock. If you wish to disable the lock feature, or change the time it takes to auto-lock, you can change the settings on the touchscreen panel under the Config tab.
A: First, be sure to Import the the default Shortcuts and Activators templates into vMix (templates available for download on our Support page). If you have done so, check to see if the device is properly linked with the motherboard through the following steps. First, go to your touch-screen control panel and select the “P.E.” tab. Once in, you should see a button for input with a choice of “UART” or “HID”. Select “HID” and restart the Control Surface. This should get your Control Surface up and running.
A: Be sure to check and see if the driver for your GPU (GTX 1050 Ti) has been updated to the latest version, as outdated drivers are known to cause issues for the display (you can search for the latest driver here). If the flickering still persists after the update, check and see if the GeForce Experience software has been installed on your unit. If yes, uninstall the software, as the software is known to conflict with vMix.
Control Surface CSV100
A: The MM Control Surface is made to be a plug-and-play device (no driver downloads required), so the only set-up needed will be done on vMix itself. Simply import the default shortcut and activator templates (available from our website’s download page), and enable the device (listed as YNA Control Surface) on both the Shortcuts and Activators tabs, before clicking OK on your settings.
A: Simply head over to the Settings menu (at the top right corner of vMix), and go to the Shortcuts (or Activators) tab on the left. In the Shortcuts tab, click on the Template button, and then on the Import button. In the Activators tab, you should be able to see the Import button right away. After that, simply load in the template files of your choice.
A: The best practice for having your session integrate with the MM Control Surface as seamlessly as possible is to have your panel plugged-in and turned on before opening your vMix session. If you still have problems from there on, try unplugging then plugging back into the unit. If this does not work, be sure to check that you are plugged into the back-panel of your PC, as certain front panel ports may lack the required power output to power the unit. Also be sure to plug into either a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, as the switcher does not work consistently with USB 3.1 ports.
A: Responsive key LED lighting on a panel is dependent on vMix’s Activator function. This feature was introduced in vMix version 18, so any version of vMix earlier than that would not allow for responsive lighting on our product.
If you own vMix version 18 or later, and are still faced with this issue, be sure to follow our steps on how to properly install the Activator template provided on our downloads page.
